Nothing is as it seems! The public must
be educated to see through the news!
The Police – They are an undisciplined
lot who have had to reined in by the new Government, and accordingly have been
under pressure to reform some of their egregious behavior. This was also
highlighted during the ill fated crucifying of Kondaya in recent Seya Baby
murder case. Another of their unacceptable behavior is their inability to
handle crowds of protestors in a calm, non threatening way, as they believe
that a show of force against defenseless people is an act of their machismo.
Irrespective of what has transpired the Police have to grow up to reduce
corruption, and be held accountable and therefore change the way they operate,
and the public must demand a sea change in their demeanor towards the people
they are sworn to protect.
The Media – They are the opportunists,
always looking for an excuse to go overboard and show some shocking pictures
and blow any event out of proportion, both for personal enhancement in having
their photos published with the new medium of maximum impact being FB. Any
photographer knows the angle of the photo says it all. It can either be meaningless
or full of impact over and above the real incident. Let us not forget from
behind the angle of a baton lofted can look attacking or merely lifted,
depending on the point from which the photo is taken, giving a completely
different picture to the viewer. With NO media censorship, instead of
restraint, it seems that maximum impact, no matter what the facts seem to be
the modus operandi of the reporter or photographer. The public therefore must
look at a picture with skepticism.
The Students – They too love publicity.
For them publicity is manna from heaven, and will do anything to get press
attention, and they are past masters at using the media for their own ends.
Worse, it is vital that the public understand that even the students are
manipulated by the leaders for ulterior motives. It is the leaders and not the
students, who are extremely politically motivated. The Students are merely
cannon fodder to present a political statement, that bears no sense in reality.
Taking the main demand of these students to ban private Education, that is the
most absurd demand as 90% of Education is now in private hands. Even school
education is in the hands of private tutors. The very real demand should be to demand
that they get a quality education so they can obtain skilled jobs, but where are
those basic demands in the student’s demonstrating arsenal or placards?
PUBLIC – THE THREE GROUPS ABOVE HAVE CONSPIRED
TO COMPLETELY WHITEWASH THE TRUE GOALS OF DEVELOPING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE, BY ENGAGING
IN NEEDLESS RHETORIC!
IN SHORT THEY ARE ALL TRAITORS OF MOTHER LANKA - AND IT IS TIME YOU THE READER REALIZED IT SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.
Actions of all these three make the government in power unpopular as they did to the previous government!
ReplyDeleteHAHA... funny how much of a different tune you would have been singing if it was a MR govt. in power.. ROFL
